Senior Leadership Team
Mrs Helen Cooper
Sapperton and Powell's C of E Primary Schools.
Mrs Cooper is delighted to be executive headteacher at Sapperton which is a small, caring and successful school. She has worked in education for the past 28 years. She believes education is about nurturing confidence and recognising individual strengths in every child. Her goal is always to ensure that each child has the support they need to succeed and feel valued. In her leadership role, she is committed to building strong relationships. She understands that collaboration with parents, teachers, and the local community is key to providing the best possible experiences for the children.
Mrs Meg Crampton
Teacher - Elder (Years 5 and 6)
Mrs Crampton joined Sapperton in 2023 with over 15 years of teaching experience across Gloucestershire. She is passionate about teaching a broad range of subjects, especially English, maths, history and languages, and enjoys creating a positive, community-focused school environment. Alongside her role as Head of School, she remains dedicated to classroom teaching and is continuing her professional development with national leadership qualifications.
Key Stage 2:
Miss Charlotte Preece
SENDCo
Miss Preece began volunteering at Sapperton in 2012, later qualifying as a teacher and returning in 2018. She now teaches across the curriculum and is the school’s SENDCo. She enjoys Art, History, and Geography, and spends her free time walking dogs, horse riding, and enjoying the countryside.
Mr Rob Mant
Mr Mant has taught Rowan Class since 2023 and holds a master’s in Sports Coaching and Pedagogy. Passionate about all subjects, he specialises in Science, Computing, DT, and PE. He has years of coaching experience and enjoys countryside walks with his Dalmatian, Ruby, and his partner.
Key Stage 1:
Mrs Jennifer Wenban
Mrs Wenban, joined Sapperton in early 2025 having previously taught in schools in Oxfordshire. She loves teaching early years and key stage 1 and especially enjoys Music, Science and English (reading stories in particular). Her time at home is spent with family, enjoying nature and playing lots of board games.
Mrs Lisa Trinder
Mrs Trinder joined Sapperton in January 2025 having taught in school in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. She enjoys teaching all subject areas, working across all ages in primary schools, and particularly loves teaching the younger years; developing confidence, independence and happy learners. When not at school, she enjoys bellringing, gardening and crafting.
Teaching Assistants:
Miss Laura Scrivens
Miss Scrivens has over 30 years experience working with children and joined Sapperton in 2015. Now a qualified HLTA, she supports staff and pupils, with a particular passion for Special Educational Needs. Outside school, she runs a Brownie group and enjoys family life with her four daughters and six dogs.
Mrs Mindham
Mrs Mindham, a qualified teacher, has been a Teaching Assistant at Sapperton since 2023. Passionate about Literacy, she inspires a love of reading and writing. She also supports Forest School, valuing outdoor learning. Outside school, she enjoys running, cycling, gardening, and spending time in nature.
Miss Amy Kellett
Miss Kellett began working at Sapperton School when her children attended in 2016. She has worked closely with the children, supporting them on the sports field and now as a Midday supervisor – helping children to enjoy the outdoor space Sapperton offers.
Mrs Sue Reed
Mrs Reed joined Sapperton in 2022 after time raising her family. A qualified HLTA and ELSA, she is passionate about supporting all children, especially those with additional needs. She loves PE, Art, and encouraging creativity. Outside school, she enjoys family life, horse riding, and playing football and rugby.

Mr Luke Campbell
Luke joined the Sportily team in September 2022 and brings great energy to hands-on, sport-based ministry. He’s highly competitive but always quick to laugh. Passionate about the role of physical activity in personal growth, Luke loves helping others progress – and if you haven’t found your sport yet, he’s keen to help.

Miss Sophie Smith
Miss Smith joined Sapperton in 2024 after a career in television and film production. She enjoys the varied challenge of the role as well as working with the children and parents. Her passions are history, theatre and film, mountain walking and travel.
Miss Michelle Hugh
Michelle Hugh is a dedicated school administrator with a background in Psychology. A former governor and mum of two, she combines professional insight with personal experience to support families. Michelle is known for her friendly, practical approach and strong community involvement, helping to foster a warm, well-organised school environment.
